Report by interim Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kurt Schnier:
Thank you to everyone who joined the Oracle Town Hall on Monday, Oct. 10. For those who were unable to attend but would like to see the presentation and discussion we have posted the slides and video . We also greatly appreciate those who joined us for our third Oracle Reboot Camp for staff members on Thursday, Oct. 13. We had 43 attendees, and we provided them training on a number of critical tools that will help them better support the faculty with the management of their funds. Please ask your staff what they learned at this training the next time you work with them and hopefully you will see these tools being used in your upcoming budgetary reviews.
Our team continues to meet weekly with your post-award RAs to review outstanding grant management issues. We greatly appreciate the RAs’ partnership on this effort and look forward to this process paying dividends through the development of more proactive grant management practices. To assist with this process, please review your contract/grant reports with your RA at least every month to see if there are any unanticipated discrepancies in your expenditure activity so you can notify our team to investigate further. The quicker we are able to do this, the quicker we will be able to ensure your invoices are accurate and processed promptly. We look forward to your partnership in this process and to us providing a more holistic support hub for you and your RA to effectively manage your funds.
