Auxiliary Enterprises and Fiscal Innovation (AFI) is a diverse group of service units offering goods and services to the UC Merced community that are essential to academic and administrative success. By operating in a financially self-supporting manner and providing convenient, customer-driven and cost-effective goods and services, AFI supports the University’s mission and enhances the student experience.

The Business and Financial Services (BFS) unit handles a broad range of services. Students and parents can get information about payment of tuition and fees. Campus employees can learn about timecard processes and tax services, along with making arrangements for business travel. The division also performs general accounting and treasury/banking services for the university.

Financial Planning and Analysis
The mission of the Financial Planning and Analysis unit is to guide the stewardship of UC Merced’s financial resources and manage fiscal processes and policies in support of the university’s goals. The FPA team provides guidance and support for UC Merced's operating and capital budgets.
Procurement and Contracting Services
Procurement and Contracting Services is responsible for the acquisition, tracking, and inventory of campus goods and services. The unit also serves as a business expert for campus stakeholders on real estate, construction, and facilities design contract matters.
