Auxiliary Enterprises and Fiscal Innovation

Auxiliary Enterprises and Fiscal Innovation is a diverse group of service units offering goods and services to the UC Merced community that are essential to academic and administrative success. By operating in a financially self-supporting manner and providing convenient, customer-driven and cost-effective goods and services, AFI supports the university’s mission and enhances the student experience.

Business and Financial Services

Business and Financial Services assures accountability of campus resources and provides campus and external partners with meaningful financial data that informs and supports decision-making around university operations. Knowledgeable staff in BFS’s various departments are committed to providing high-quality and timely customer service to faculty, staff, students and others.  Business & Financial Services works with campus partners to implement policies and procedures that ensure the university is well managed and fiscally responsible.

Financial Planning and Analysis

The mission of Financial Planning and Analysis is to guide the stewardship of UC Merced’s financial resources and manage fiscal processes and policies in support of the university’s goals. The FP&A team provides guidance and support for UC Merced's operating and capital budgets.

Supply Chain Center of Excellence

The Supply Chain Center of Excellence provides efficient and cost-effective supply chain services while working to develop new strategic and operational capabilities. Areas include strategic sourcing, business contracts, supplier partnerships, procure-to-pay and logistics services to campus customers and business partners.

Center for Business Services and Solutions

As part of UC Merced’s continued efforts to enhance administrative services and better support campus operations, the Center for Business Services and Solutions (CBS2) department is undergoing a structural transition.  Beginning in April 2025, the services previously provided by CBS2 have been realigned under new centralized units within Procurement and Contracting Services, and Travel and Expense Management.  These changes follow the announcement from DFA and is designed to ensuring greater efficiency, policy compliance, and enhanced customer service across the university.
