Research Newsletter Report 6/17

June 17, 2022

Progress on the Oracle Data Integrity Project has slowed this week as the remaining projects that need alignment are considerably complex, and we are learning that they require more time.

Our team’s focus remains on your contract and grants, and we remain optimistic that we will have alignment plans complete by the end of fiscal close this year, with you all being able to see tangible improvements in your contracts and grants shortly after the Fall semester begins. This is a bit later than originally anticipated, but the complexities have impacted our progress. Should we experience additional delays, we will be sure to notify the campus.

I greatly appreciate the team’s efforts to support these alignment plans on both the accounting and budget side as they are adding these efforts to their existing workloads during the fiscal year close ramp up, which is the busiest time of year for our teams.

Procurement

As mentioned in prior updates, we have been experiencing an increase in procurement requests through CBS2 recently. We have been able to reduce these numbers over the past couple of weeks to increase turnaround time and improve service for the campus. However, we continue to see a high volume of requests in our travel and reimbursement area that we are focusing on at this time.

This said, our total ticket volume is back in the 800s and closes to our steady-state target for our campus service levels. I thank our CBS2 team for their efforts to reduce this temporary backlog and improve service for our campus.
